Do I Need An EPC
You will need an EPC if you are selling your home or you are a landlord and wanting to let the property.
You should start by checking the EPC register online at www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate to see if your property already has an EPC. If you have an EPC dated in the last 10 years then there is no legal requirement for you to obtain another. Regulations and EPC calculations have changed considerably over the last 10 years and so if you have an older certificate, it may be worth updating it.
If you are a landlord and intend to let the property, you will be required to achieve a minimum efficiency rating of E on the EPC. If you do receive less than this there are helpful recommendations on the EPC that will help you find the cheapest way to bring your property within the required standards.
